Khyber Pakhtunkhwa System of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (KP-STVET) is an Oriented System, Organised with a team of passionate individuals who drive and harmonise Technical Education and Vocational Training in KP Province in Collaboration with KP Government by inspiring connections, improving methodologies, and furthering technological development for the enhancement of Technical Skill and knowledge engineering. We serve to create awareness in the masses about Technical Education and knowledge engineering and value for all in Technical and Vocational Training.
In 2007, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) opened some of the selected Technical Institutes for the Training of Civilian Youth under various Government sponsored programs. Appreciating the training quality and discipline, the president of Pakistan directed that PAF should takeover one of the Sindh Govt Technical Institute at Benazir Abad (Nawab Shah) for up gradation to Model Institute. This experience was highly successful. The NAVTTC, therefore recommended that PAF may extend the expertise and cooperation to other Provinces as well. In pursuance, Sindh Govt handed over two more Institutes to PAF and Punjab Govt also handed over Technical Teacher Training Institutes at Muree to PAF. Collaboration with Baluchistan Govt was not encouraging.
The response of KP Govt was overwhelming and five Technical Institutes at Kalabat Haripur, Abbot Abad, Khaki Mansihra, Yar Hussain Swabi and Mardan were handed over to PAF on 3rd July, 2015. The five institutes so handed over have witnessed remarkable improvement in all facets of training and performance indicators were appreciated by the Board. KP-TEVTA, therefore handed over another five institutes to PAF at Chitral City, Booni Chitral, Chakdara, Jehangira Nowshera and Nowshera City on 18 March, 2016. To increase the linkage with industries, one institute was established by PAF with the help of KP-TEVTA at industrial Zone Gadoon in the same month. Noticing the quick improvement, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Govt decided to hand over all the Technical Institutes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Govt to PAF to ensure that they are upgraded to International Standard. PAF honored the request of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Govt and recommended the transfer in phase manner. Therefore 17 more institutes at Takht Bhai Mardan, Palo Dheri Mardan, Hatian Mardan, Umarzai Charsadda, Mirza Dher Charsadda, Bamborait Chitral, Matta Swat, Kohat, Swabi City, Sheikh Maltoon Mardan, Kalabat Haripur, Bannu, Hayat Abad Peshawar, Balakot Mansehra and Batagram Mansehra were also handed over to PAF. This way the number of institutes reached to 26. Apart from this PAF also established two technical institutes at Badaber and one each at Urmer Peshawar, Akora Nowshera and Shewa Swabi in the vacant buildings. This way the number of institutes rose to 32. As the institutes increased to considerable number, it was given the name of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa System of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (KP-STVET). All the institutes have made considerable improvements in all aspect including Administration, Academics, Finance, Procurement, Inventory Management, Security, Environment, Workshops, Training Equipment, Training Material and Automation etc.
Besides enhancing enrollment, other performance indicators like, discipline and accountability, training quality, placement etc have also been improved. Enrollment in the 27 Institutes at the time of handing over to KP-STVET was 1065, KP-STVET established 05 more institutes, rehabilitating the old buildings of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Govt and PAF. This ways, by the end of 2019 the total enrollments reached to 14888. The target is 20,000.
Two specialized trades i.e Aviation Training including Aircraft Maintenance and Non Destructive Testing (NDT) are also being started.
Up gradation of Auto-mobile labs and state of the Art auto-mobile Trainers and equipment have been procured from F.X.B China and installed in Mardan, Akora, Haripur, Gadoon, Yar-Hussain, Urmar and two more sets are being installed at Matta Swat and Badaber Peshawar.
HVAC labs have been upgraded to international standard by installing advance HVAC Trainer procured from Lab Tech Indonesia.
Animated digital lesson loaded on trolleys with 20 tablets on every trolley have been inducted in seven institutes.
Volvo Prime Mover, CIMC Flat Bed Trailer, ACPL Car Carrier, Hyundai Heavy Duty Bus and Dump Truck procured from China and Sweden for specialist vehicles driving and operator courses at GTVC (B) Gadoon Amazai and Badaber.

All the institutes have now attained the level, whereby the accreditation process with national and international accreditation bodies has been started. Presently, 07 institutes have been accredited with NAVTTC and accreditation of further 21 is in process. Two more institutes are being prepared for accreditation in specialized trades like Aviation Training which includes Aircraft Maintenance and Non Destructive Testing (NDT). The accreditation process with international training providers has also been started.
KP-STVET is committed to transform the institute to state of the art technical and vocational training centers and provides knowledge and skill based technical training to fulfill needs of local and international market. This way the student would be empowered and equipped to earn their livelihood with honor and respect and to uplift their socio-economic status.
